AI assistant

The assistant opens as a panel on the right edge of the screen, like on a Chromebook.

Setting it up

1. Settings → AI assistant → turn it on.
2. Pick a provider: Claude, Gemini, Mistral, ChatGPT, Grok or DeepSeek.
3. Sign in opens the provider's own page: you use your own account. HypeDE never sees or stores your password and uses no API keys.

Where to ask

• the Ask Claude button (named after your provider) in the launcher sends what you typed;
• Super+A sends the selected text from any app;
• in Files, Ask sends the selected files;
• Ask Claude (or your provider) in the title bar of Settings asks about a setting.

Privacy

The assistant only chats. It cannot run commands, change settings or read files on its own; it sees only what you send it. It is off until you turn it on.
